Offering safe and surgent fun for kids of all abilities, you'll be surprised and delighted by all the sensory-motor activities hidden in Danceland. The music invites participation and engages children in rhythmic expression, which is fundamental to physical, cognitive, and emotional development. Designed by physical and occupational therapists, over 75 movement activities can be adapted for physical education and home programming.
The "travel guide" combines theory with instruction, while encouraging you to put your own creative twists on the activities. Turn dances into games, choreographed stories, or theatrical performances! Polka to an authentic Krakowiak, or have kids choreograph their own movements to singer Lora Dart's Native American song "Touch the Earth." Kids can croon karaoke-style to an uproarious re-make of the 60s hit "Wild Thing," or have a Kwanzaa party to "Wisdom of Africa." The possibilities are endless!

Kristen Fitz Taylor is a physical therapist, who has been a student and teacher of dance for over twenty years.
Cheryl McDonald is a physical therapist who bagan dancing at age four. She has been teaching Developmental Dance since 1993.
